BP BTC Pipeline

Spanning three countries from the Caspian Sea to the Mediterranean coast.

At a length of 1,768km, the Baku Tbilisi Ceyhan (BTC) Pipeline is one of the great engineering endeavours of the new millennium.

The BTC oil export pipeline transports crude oil from offshore oil fields in the Caspian Sea to the Turkish coast of the Mediterranean from where the crude is further shipped via tankers to European markets.

The pipeline travels from the Sangachal terminal near Baku through Azerbaijan, Georgia and Turkey to the Ceyhan marine terminal on the Turkish coast of the Mediterranean.

Installed offshore Azerbaijan to the pumping stations in Turkey, there are MICROPACK Visual Flame Detectors providing indiscriminate flame detection throughout the whole operation.

MICROPACK have not only provided state of the art flame detection technology within this operation, but also offshore and onshore based Engineers and Technicians who provide 24 hour support for the whole fire and gas detection system. We ensure the systems are properly maintained and operating at an availability rating above the set KPI, reducing disturbance to operations and ensuring plant and personnel are properly protected.
