The natural gas joint development project (known as the In Amenas Gas Project) which includes four primary gas fields plus the gathering and processing facilities in Tiguentourine, 25 kilometres (16 mi) outside the town, was commissioned in 2006.
The project is operated by Sonatrach, BP, and Statoil.
MICROPACKcompleted a full fire and gas detection mapping study of the complete site using highly developed assessment methods together with our custom software FDA (Flame Detection Assessment), GDA ( Gas Detection Assessment) and HDA (Heat Detection Assessment) packages.
Micropack reviewed and assessed the existing arrangements and proposed additions and enhancements to the initial design. The assessments were then used to optimise the fire and gas detection system and provide a safe and cost effective design.
